It's 1953 in Red-baiting, blacklisting Los Angeles, a moral tar pit ready to swallow Easy Rawlins. Easy is out of "the hurting business" and into the housing (and favor) business when a racist IRS agent nails him for tax evasion. Special Agent Darryl T. Craxton, FBI, offers to bail him out if he agrees to infiltrate the First American Baptist Church and spy on alleged communist organizer Chaim Wenzler. That's when the murders begin....©2002 Walter Mosley (P)2009 Audible, Inc. Ficción Literaria Género Ficción Misterio Ficción Suspenso

Once again I wasn't disappointed. loved the narrator's voice. Makes story enjoyable to listen too.

Another great read

Everything was leading to the eventual ending but it was still a great story. I could see Denzel and Don in both characters as I listened.

Great listen.

Loved everything! Everyone needs a friend like Mouse! Crazy asf and will do anything for their friend. I’m so disappointed about EdaMae, though not surprised. I kind of saw that coming and Easy is the one that set it up. Another awesome narrating job from Michael Boatman!

Excellent!

_A Red Death_ by Walter Mosely receives four stars from me. The mystery is excellent, lots of strings that need to be unraveled.

What I liked about the first Easy Rawlins mystery is still here in this one. However, I felt that there is more focus on the mystery this time. It’s a tangled web he weaves, and the payoff is good. But this is kind of slow starter. Mosely takes time to set all the parts of the web up and then. Once the crime starts, the action picks up and Easy must figure out what is at the bottom of it.

The reader is Michael Boatman, who read the first novel as well. He’s still excellent. Honestly, he’s fantastic. His white voices are excellent. He picks good voices for the characters too. He brings the book to life.
