The daughter of Princess Emma and Prince Eadric, 15-year-old Millie is often quite charming. But when she gets angry, she turns into a dragon—not a cute little pink one, but a huge, green-scaled, fire-breathing dragon. Of course, this terrifying sight scares off her friends and family—and any suitors seeking her hand in marriage. Millie is embarrassed—even angered—that this transformation continues to happen. But no one seems to have any solution until she hears of a witch in the far reaches of the Frozen North. Unfortunately, this powerful conjurer is guarded by terrifying polar bears with no desire to help a princess in distress. As she introduces listeners to a new generation of Greater Greensward’s enchanting royal family, Book Sense Children’s Pick author E. D. Baker proves as winning a storyteller as ever. Brilliantly textured by Katherine Kellgren’s vocal talents, The Dragon Princess is an audiobook to be savored.

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved getting to see the next generation with Millie, her cousin and friend all end up on their own adventure. We get to see Millie right about when she is the same age as Emma was when the series started. She is having princes starting to court her but she has a unique issue, her magic has shown itself with her turning into a dragon when she is angry. She has not learned to control the change and she spells and magic don't work for her the right away. I enjoyed watching Millie come into herself and figure things out as she goes on a journey to find the Blue Witch in order to find a way to gain control of her temper and shifting. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters throughout the story and seeing Millie meet Aldoon and saving his family. I'm excited for where things are going to in the next book.

Loved this! Getting new generation!

My daughter thought this story was very compelling, saying it was quite good on details and very explicit in regards to feelings, smells, tastes and all kinds of odd minutiae. Well recommended.

Good story for girls aged 6-9
