Mary Jo Putney
New York Times best-selling author Mary Jo Putney has claimed two RITAs, two Romantic Times Career Achievement Awards and four Golden Leaf Awards. Her mastery of the historical romance is evident in every word of Nowhere Near Respectable. Damian Mackenzie is an incorrigible gambler just honorable enough to save Lady Kiri Lawford from dangerous smugglers. That does not, however, mean he has any desire to return her romantic interest - until he learns Kiri’s not exactly the prim and proper lady society expects her to be.

What three words best describe Tim Gerard Reynols’s performance?
Terrible voice changesAny additional comments?
I don't know where the romance was...I must have slept through most of it. One review complained about the sex scenes....well...must have slept through those too because I only heard one... I found this book to be very boring...not sure if it was the terrible narrator, who couldn't do voice changes at all, or the story itself. Sorry...I did not enjoy this book.WHERE'S THE ROMANCE

MacKensey is a realistic hero who never steps out of reality but functions with all the faults of a real guy.
Mr. Reynols is not Simon Prebble, but his narration is decent.
My kind of Hero

What did you like best about this story?
The plot is good. Not quite in the league of Georgette Heyer, but good a good adventure. I I enjoy the characters being carried through the books and the development of the characters. Could do with less explicit sex. It quite spoils the flow of the story and feels contrived I would rather leave something to the imagination.I do sense a desire to entwine modern feminism and human rights into the stories which pushes the credibility ( schools for wayward aristocrats, and indian dukes). Overall ,the story is good but does not need this level of sex to sell - Despite the latter, this is light escapism which I enjoyed and think is worthy of more than the sex image.
Have you listened to any of Tim Gerard Reynols’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
GoodAny additional comments?
