The start of an action-packed teen series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Richard Paul Evans.

To everyone at Meridian High School, fourteen-year-old Michael Vey is nothing special, just the kid who has Tourette’s syndrome. But in truth, Michael is extremely special—he has electric powers. Michael thinks he is unique until he discovers that a cheerleader named Taylor has the same mysterious powers. With the help of Michael’s friend, Ostin, the three of them set out to discover how Michael and Taylor ended up with their abilities, and their investigation soon brings them to the attention of a powerful group who wants to control the electric teens—and through them, the world.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Richard Paul Evans introduces a character whose risk-filled exploration marks the beginning of a riveting new series. With only his powers, his wits, and his friends to protect him, Michael will need all his strength to survive….

A great book...I can write that confidently even though I am only 1/2 way thru it...I have not listened to a book that held my attention this closely for a very long time...I listen while I am doing other things because I dont have time to just sit and read anymore...I often have to 'rewind' because I became distracted and missed so much...That was not the case with this book. It is not the great novel of the century but is a wonderful pleasure read. It has some obvious parallels to Riordan's Percy Jackson series but stands on its own quite well. I have already looked for other books by Richard Evans. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the Percy Jackson series or other Riordan books...I am Number Four...Divergent...Michael Scotts Alchemist series...or Simon Bloom. I am certainly not the target audience but I have an 11 year old avid reader, and I like to know what she is reading...This will definitely become one of her favorites (her other favorites are listed above) it gets a strong A in my opinion.

Caught me and kept me!!!

Would you listen to Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 again? Why?

I would listen to this book again because I so enjoyed that basic good vs. evil theme...I loved that the characters were flawed and you loved them anyway.

What other book might you compare Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 to and why?

Definitely a must for a Harry Potter fan

Was there a moment in the book that particular moved you?

I would love to tell you my favorite part but I don't want to ruin it for you.

Any additional comments?

Great book for kids and adults. Characters with real flaws and handicaps and you love them. Issues like bullying addressed with outcomes you will love. The main characters have a good value system that you want your kid reading about.

Harry Potter fans, get your fix here!

I've loved this book series for years but getting to listen to it brings a real emersive feeling back to the book which shows a lot since just reading the book itself is a journey.

Great series of books, one of my favorites

I really like this book because it brought me back to when I first read it about 6 to 7 years ago.

Good book

17 electric children were born all on the same day but not all survived. The survivors were separated and raised as normal children. There are 2 electric children that live in the same city. There is also a man named Hatch who is trying to gather all the electrics and take over the world.

YES! That alone drew me in! It was such a good, quick read! I really enjoyed this one. Will probably read book 2 later this year.

Electric!
