On the eve of a secret military operation, an assassin's bullet strikes President Seth Jerrison. He is rushed to the hospital, where surgeons struggle to save his life. At the same hospital, researcher Dr. Ranjip Singh is experimenting with a device that can erase traumatic memories.

And now one of those people has access to the president's memories - including classified information regarding the upcoming military mission, which, if revealed, could cost countless lives. But the task of determining who has switched memories with whom is a daunting one - particularly when some of the people involved have reason to lie....

Started out interesting, then grew tiresome

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I really couldn't wait until it was over, the same ramblings on about the same thing over and over. Never really gripped my attention. I wish I could get my credit back.

Have you listened to any of Jeff Woodman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The performance was very good, and yes I would listen to him again. Hopefully, with a better story.

Do you think Triggers needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Great Book; Well Read

Someone else called this book a "spiritual thriller" and I would agree, as that phrase put me in mind of Dean Koontz' Odd Thomas books, and this has some similarities in terms of "feel". I liked the premise of the book; I thought it was well written and read with care. There are some unbelievable parts, but that's what it is to read this kind of book--of course, everything in it couldn't really happen. That's what some kinds of fiction are like. I would recommend this wholeheartedly.

A spiritual thriller

I liked it Nothing earth shattering but a good story. Well read Characters you care about. Unusual ending but satisfying.

Not his best stuff by far.

I've read virtually everything Robert Sawyer has ever written. They usually range from excellent (Counting God) to pretty damned good (Hominid series). This is just average by normal standards. By Robert J Sawyer standard, I think it's below average. The narration is very good, the story is moderately interesting, and deals with mostly memory. Some aspects of the story are cool, but just not enough to carry the whole thing.
