Andrew Sachs reads Jonathan Swift's humorous and unforgettable tale of a strange man in some very strange lands. Gulliver had always wanted to see the world. But whenever he steps on board a ship, bad luck always seems near at hand. He is shipwrecked, abandoned, marooned and mutinied against - and each time lands in a strange and curious place.

First he discovers the kingdom of the small people of Lilliput, whose height make their petty quarrels seem ridiculous. Gulliver then encounters the giants of Brobdingnag, who are amazed by how tiny he is, and treat him like a pampered pet. But his smallness leads him into many dangers, and he longs to escape and make his way home. Will he ever see England again?

Yes it’s an abridged version. But life is short and the amount of content worth reading or listening to is almost endless.

A classic well-read

Excellent retelling of the classic story, that draws you in, like you are there. The narrator creates vivid pictures in your mind of where he is and what is happening. Easy to hear and understand. Suitable for all ages.

A real sea going adventure!

First time I "read" the story even though I've watched the movie. The first person narration was a cut and dry account of the Englishman's adventures in the other lands. I liked it.

Glad I listened
