Will Lee ran from a life of Southern wealth and privilege to spend a peaceful summer on the coast of Ireland. But there is no peace in this beautiful, troubled land....

Restless and dissatisfied, Will dreams of shipbuilding and sailing on crystal-blue waters. Then an explosion of senseless violence drags the young American drifter into a lethal game of terror and revenge. Now Will Lee must run for his life from a bloody past that is not his own.

Having really enjoyed listening to Chiefs I immediately downloaded a second Stuart Woods, Run Before the Wind. It was disappointing the main character is a narcissist with misogynist leanings. He seeks wisdom and reason to believe in himself, although the book appears to validate the latter it is unclear as to whether or not he gains wisdom. The end is anti-climactic but kudos for leaving a tiny breath of possibility.

Doesnt live up to Chiefs

I love all of Stuart Woods. He is a great writer. The mystery and romance mix is always a good one.

I first read this book many years ago, and at least once in the intervening years. Now, after listening to it again, I have to say it’s one of my all time favorites. I’ve read many of Wood’s books over the years, but I think this is best.

A wonderful book.

We have read & listened to many Stuart Woods books. This is one of the best, well rounded and many twists and turns, including plausible IRA connections. If you are familiar with "Will Lee" character, this book is the beginning of his story. He starts out as an immature, lazy law student who doesn't like the prospect of being a lawyer in the family tradition, and is about to be kicked out of law school. The dean advises him to take a year off and reconsider his future. What a year it will be.

Great road trip listen
