Features a new exclusive introduction read by author Orson Scott Card.

From the author of Ender’s Game, the major motion picture!

A complex fate. A deadly path. Book two in the New York Times bestselling series Publishers Weekly calls “an epic in the best sense.”

When Rigg and his friends crossed the Wall between the only world they knew and a world they could not imagine, he hoped he was leading them to safety. But the dangers in this new wallfold are more difficult to see. Rigg, Umbo, and Param know that they cannot trust the expendable, Vadesh - a machine shaped like a human, created to deceive - but they are no longer certain that they can even trust one another. But they will have little choice. Because although Rigg can decipher the paths of the past, he can’t yet see the horror that lies ahead: A destructive force with deadly intentions is hurtling toward Garden. If Rigg, Umbo, and Param can’t work together to alter the past, there will be no future.

The adventure, suspense, and time travel continue in this second installment in the critically acclaimed New York Times and Publishers Weekly bestselling Pathfinder series.

I also was excited to get the sequel to Pathfinder, a book which I really enjoyed. This book, however, was a waste of my time. It's convoluted twists and turns, backward and forward through time were too complicated to keep track of, and the constant guessing/explanations of each alternate reality possibility were boring and wore on my patience. Where was the editor?

There is constant potty talk, which really gets old, I wonder if anyone thinks of potty issues as much as OSC. I agree with other readers that the constant bickering was a drag on the story as well. There was no charm in the characters this time, I lost my love for them. The ending just made me irritated and I’m not sure if I have a desire to read the next book or not. When you fall out of love, sometimes it’s best just to walk away.

Another disappointed fan...

Any additional comments?

The story was good. The only cons are: The story is told in a series of conversations. And the ending is abrupt and unfinished. Other than that I liked it. I read the first one also. And I'll read the next.

Great story, but needs a finish.

I was a little disappointed in the first book because I felt like the ability to travel through time stoked momentum of the building conflict in the story, but this book gave me the feeling like we are running out of time even though we can travel through it. I look forward to the third book.

Much Better!

I waited for this book to come out and was extremely interested in where it would go. It did not dissapoint, there is a serious adventure in this book. The book started right where the previous book left off, so there is no catching up to do, unless you need a refresher from the old book.

My biggest complaint for the book is that the last hour left me confused. I don't want to give anything away, but it left me thinking I missed something and a lot of "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"

There is a lot of time traveling in this book and it can get a little confusing at times. So don't zone out for part of it or you may miss important details.

Narrators were all spot on. No complaints from me!

This book is my favorite of the series so far. Just when I thought I had things figured out, I was wrong and the story continued on. The amount of detail paints a vivid picture as your listening without being too wordy. Great listen
