The old submarine-chaser USS Hibiscus, re-fitting in a Hong Kong dockyard before being handed over to the Nationalist Chinese, is suddenly ordered to the desolate island group of Payenhau. A fan of historic naval history I found this very dissappointing. D.R. is becoming a bit repetitive in his plots: Flawed naval officer+girl+internal struggles+the odd child= "same old, same old". I find if I leave a few months before his books they are quite enjoyable. Not this time.

Narrator did a great job as usual.

Unbelievable at that time in at the same history.

What about David Rintoul’s performance did you like?

Always a excellent performance

Any additional comments?

Listened to many of Douglas Reeman's books. In my opinion this is one of his best.
A more complex story of intrigue and constant action

Thriller
