Agatha Christie
In Agatha Christie’s baffling detective story, Nemesis, a letter from a dead man instructs Miss Marple how to conduct an investigation into a puzzlingly unspecific crime.
In utter disbelief, Miss Marple read the letter addressed to her from the recently deceased Mr. Rafiel—an acquaintance she had met briefly on her travels. He had left instructions for her to investigate a crime after his death. The only problem was, he had failed to tell her who was involved or where and when the crime had been committed. It was most intriguing.
Soon she is faced with a new crime—the ultimate crime—murder. It seems someone is adamant that past evils remained buried. . . .

Well-read, relaxing Miss Marple Mystery

However, this is sadly not one of Christie’s best works. The story, characters, and plot twists are solid, but the writing is painfully repetitive. She over- explains and re-explains various plot points in a way that becomes incredibly irritating. An editor could have aired this down by about a quarter and made something really great.

Good story line although quite sad. I even really liked the follow up at the end!
Christie doesn't disappoint!

Would you listen to Nemesis again? Why?
Yes. I only buy audio books that I plan to listen to multiple times. This one was pretty well plotted, without the "hidden factors" that Christie sometimes relies upon. I enjoyed the fact that it involved a "solved" crime that had, in fact, not been solved at all.Who was your favorite character and why?
Miss Marple is always a favorite character of mine. I love her mix of doddering little old lady and high mental acuity.Which scene was your favorite?
Miss Marple contemplating those white flowers in the garden, and her reaction to what they implied. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not really.Any additional comments?
The reader had some obvious difficulty with the male voices, so they were occasionally distracting. Nonetheless, the book is a worthwhile "read".Miss Marple Solves a Cold Case - that isn't
