Editorial reviews
Listeners may not know the name Gerry Wood when they begin Tales From Country Music, but even casual fans of country can rest assured Mr. Wood will know some of their favorite performers…and some of those performers' craziest stories. All the greats are here -Willie Nelson as a young, clean-cut songwriter full of ambition, or Conway Twitty, who famously rules his tour bus like an ironfisted Mother Superior. The truth-is-stranger-than-fiction account of an ill-fated train ride to Nashville with Jimmy Buffet is worth the price of admission on its own. Narrator Erik Davies brings a clear and personable energy to this collection of stories that are by turns moving, incredible, and hilarious.
I would recommend this easy fun & insiteful read!!
Love it!

Mr Woods and Mr Zamek can tell a good story. Their personal stories about people they know and the fun they had on the road. Sometimes these trips caused problems with their wives. Mostly missed celebrations.
There are so many star names in the story that I would not tell you the names.
Of course, the background stories of the big stars are interesting, and they mention stars' names that I had forgotten.
I grew up hearing country and western music in our house. I woke up hearing it playing in the kitchen, and when we were at my Grandparents' home, we listened to the radio while our Grandfather read the funny papers to us. That's comics to younger people.
I found the book very interesting.
Lots of History
