From New York Times bestselling author of The Husband Hunt, The Heiress, and other beloved historical romances, comes Lynsay Sands’s An English Bride in Scotland, the first book in a new series set in the wilds of the Highlands.

Annabel had planned to become a nun. But when her mother arrives at the Abbey to bring her home to marry a Scottish laird—her runaway sister’s intended husband—her life takes a decidedly different turn.

And though Annabel isn’t the wife he’d planned for, strong, sexy Ross McKay is taken with his shy, sweet bride.

Annabel knows nothing about being a wife, running a castle—or the marriage bed. But her handsome new husband makes her want to learn. When Annabel’s life is threatened, Ross vows to move the highlands itself to save her and preserve the passion that’s only beginning to bloom.

This book is such a sweet and tender Highland romance. If you enjoy Cinderella type stories then you will enjoy this one. This book was romantic, funny and because it had a bit of mystery kept my interest throughout. It's really hard not to like this book.

The narrator was wonderful. She did a fantastic job with all the voices and made the listen fast and enjoyable.

This one is too sweet not to give it a listen.

So Adorably Sweet!

The heroine is smart, sassy and funny. She does get into several predicaments. Mary Jane Wells does a good job narrating this story. Although I've never heard anyone say "played" for Plaid. Definitely worth a credit for a fun listen. 😁

I am 60 % British and 20% Scottish 14% Irish and 6% hodgepodge I just love listening to these beautiful accents, for some reason they make me feel at home. Just as these stories make me wish I was married to a man who cherishes me like these men do. I know that men like this don’t really exist, but it’s surely a nice fantasy.

Okay, this is one of those types of romance books. If you are looking for Shakespeare, read Shakespeare. This was a great story for the genre, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. ;) I bought the next in the series and am looking forward to reading about the next couple.
