Accompanied by his only friend, the wild-man Enkidu, his quest takes them from a giant’s forest, to the mountain of the gods, to the Path of the Sun in the Underworld....

And ultimately to a distant magical island to find the one man granted divine favor during the Deluge: Noah.

The secret Gilgamesh discovers will change history forever.

Don't Even Bother

It's like a badly written fanfiction by a 13-year-old girl who thinks she's a Biblical scholar. And it's written by a dude.

What really got me was the author's claim that he didn't deviate from the Gilgamesh epic very much. Except he deviates from it a lot. There's so many dissimilarities between this book and the original epic, that I can't list them all here.

My advice; go read a modern translation of the original epic.

fiction and truth mixed beautifully

I am in my fifties and love stories of nephilim or Shadowhunters is what they call them in our teen book series these days. I love how Brian takes real stories from the Bible and mixes them with the mythology from history, without getting dark, and merges them into an amazing story that tickles your imagination to believe that the possibility of these tall tails probably isn't too far from the truth....the author is blunt with the description of the fear, love and emotions of the characters without having to paint explicit or gory details which makes these series a good PG 13 level...I really enjoy the details of the research as an older reader....it gets me researching random facts and stories that I have heard about and never really learned the facts. it takes you to these places in your imagination and gets you thinking deeper....

Wonderful interweaving of ancient texts.

I am not the kind of reader with time or inclination to study the Epic of Gilgamesh. But to have this opportunity to listen to this retelling in the context of the fantastic Chronicles of the Nephilim is wonderful. As I have experienced before in this series, the appendices are rich in understanding and research--and are essential for fuller impact. Outstanding.

The authors obsession with God's intimacy.

If you are someone who struggles with purity this book could be a trigger for you.

The author takes us on an amazing journey with an interesting historically inspired account of Characters we've know and often speculated about definitely the best book of the series so far
