Once, a long long time ago, a little bit before your grandmother was born and a little bit after the invention of fire, there was a princess called Jocelyn…In some families they had a special way of talking or a particular way of opening Christmas presents. In my family, we had the story. Set down for the first time is Pa Cheese's classic story of a brave princess who falls in love with a beautiful dragon.

A really fun adventure told very much like the Princess Bride. The narrator plays his part very well as the cheerful upbeat dad telling a bedtime story. Though this isn't a good performance if you're a stickler for accurate accents. The narrator does a charming American's interpretation of Scottish, cockney, etc. The story itself is exciting and friendly enough for kids, but it has a deep enough plot and enough character development to make it a satisfying listen for adults too. It's a little predictable, but only in the comforting way all good fairy tales are. No character is as they seem, but that's what you can expect from a story where the princess must set out on a quest to rescue the dragon.

Fun twisty princess tale
