A REPUTATION AT RISK

What woman in her right mind would say no to marrying the dashing Duke of Sedgemoor? Miss Penelope Thorne, that's who. She's known Camden Rothermere since they were children-and she also knows she'd bring nothing but scandal to his name.

Cam can hardly believe Penelope turned down his proposal. But if she wants to run off to the Continent and set the rumor mill ablaze, he can't stop her. Then her brother's dying request sends him to bring home the one woman he thought he'd finally gotten over.

The only way they'll both get back to London without their reputations in tatters is to pretend they're married during the journey. That means kissing like they mean it and even sharing a bed-until it becomes hard to tell where the game ends and true desire begins . . .

The story could have been a bit better but still enjoyable. Steve West's voice is astounding. He makes you feel like you're watching a movie.

But a little too much pain for me. 10 years of rejection is just mean and make the "hero" seem cruel. By about 40% into a novel, he should be getting a little self insight, not 95%. I did give it 3 because I enjoyed Harry and Sophie.

Adore Steve West's performance

Since I read A Scoundrel by Moonlight just before this story, I feared this book may fall short of my expectations since so many writers tend to use the same storyline and just character names reducing originality. NOT SO HERE. Anna Campbell is not only extremely creative in her writing she also writes beautifully. This was a magnificent love story. Steve West has also quickly become one of my favorite narrators alongside Nicholas Boulton. Purchase with confidence.

VERY well written and narrated!

Erotic, sensual and romantic. The story had adventure, danger and wonderful descriptions and witty dialogue. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I don't like an unrequited love theme. It drives me crazy when the characters don't acknowledge what's in front of them. That's just a personal preference thought. The story was well done and I still enjoyed it!

Well done
