Good story, abrupt ending.

I felt they had a great story going, but it was almost like they ran out of road so had to come up with a quick and all too predictable ending. Too bad.

Compelling

As most of Lisa Wingate's stories this kept my interest and had deeper insight than just a story. Her appreciation of different cultures and people continue to open the eyes to perhaps see things from different viewpoints. A very good read.

Enjoyable storytelling!

I enjoyed learning about the people from the back country of the Appalachians. This book made me think about how hard it might be for some to leave their native close knit communities and go out into a big city like New York!
The narrator did a great job with different voices that brought the book to life!

Loved the History!

This book kept me spellbound, eagerly awaiting my next chance to listen and never disappointed by the story!

As someone who resides in Appalachia, this story encompassing all that is special and important about the area. Narrators do a great job. Thank you for the escape!
