I have never liked Samuel Huntington because his ideas are not as deep as he tries to show. His entire theory about the Clash of Civilization is simpleton and the way he treats "Civilization" is both arbitrary and shallow and even artificial. The best example in this regard is his emphasis on the rule of religion in societies, whether Western or the Rest, and his disregard for the fact that the Western Secular Liberal System did not born out of Christianity but rather born from the struggle of the Enlightenment against Christian interference in politics. Also, we should not forget that Europe involved in two World Wars within the Western part of the continent, the West was struggling not just against the Communist Ideology but against its own Fascist movements. The election of Donald Trump twice since 2016 is another best example for the fact that Democracy is not necessarily a Christian phenomenon but rather a universal one and that the west might abandon it at any time in the future. The true clash is between values and principles such as Democracy vs Dictatorship

Informative and gives an idea of what the future holds. Very logical and a blueprint for putting into action a plan that will slow down the Clash if Civilizations.

Very simplistic view. From Morocco to Indonesia, and from Nigeria to Kazakhstan there is much more diversity and variety in the Muslim countries than the author may even imagine.
With such simplistic view no wonder that you have presidents like W Bush and Trump.
Muslims can embrace "western values" which I admire, but most of them have seen, especially from the US, only bombs and greed. How much do the US spend in aid and to promote culture, and education, surely less than 0.1% of what it spends in bombing. Would these numbers be reversed and you would see how close we may become.

Simple minded ideology
