Good D & B Story

Another good Dane & Bones, Good character development, and a solid story. I have read a lot of books about the Romanov's, some true and some fiction, for fiction this was okay. Jeffrey Kafer did another solid job narrating. I received this audiobook from FABC and this is my agreed upon review.

Entertaining and has great narration

This is an action, adventure story with some supernatural overtures. A Russian submarine that has an unknown deadly weapon on board goes missing in the Arctic. Navy SEAL Dane Maddock and his friend Bones lead a special forces team to try to retrieve the weapon before the Soviets can arrive but they encounter some unusual deadly dangers. Fast moving story with some humour, a deadly secret, ice age animals and lots of action, but there are also some unrealistic storylines, such surviving unscathed in the Arctic when you are soaking wet. The narration of the book was great, the characters had individual voices and he brought out the humour well. This is still an entertaining story and I liked the main characters but it lacked some of the thriller aspect that is usual in this series.

great book!

This is yet another great book in the Maddock and Bones series. Full of adventure, intrigue and cold hard science.

Never Quite Caught the Adrenalin Rush

This book has all the hallmarks of a great thriller. A soviet submarine bearing some sort of break through weapon is trapped in the ice and an American team goes in to try and secure the weapon before Soviet special forces can arrive. Unfortunately, the novel never quite caught the adrenalin rush that normally accompanies such thrillers. The most interesting thing to happen was the discovery of some ice age animals thought to be extinct, but even this really didn’t get he pulse pounding. I suspect that if you’re fans of the series, just seeing your favored characters in action again will boost this novel considerably, but for those of us trying it for the first time it felt pretty tame—nothing terrible, but nothing wonderful either.

I received this novel from Free Audio Books in exchange for an honest review.

Dane and bones are great for fans Indiana jones and navy seals

I love love love this series and the voice of Jeffrey Kafer is THE voice of Fane and Bones without a doubt. This is Indiana jones as a navy seal with a badass sidekick Native American ass kicker. This is an origins story from when they were still working for the government before they begin their independent Indiana jones lifestyle. A great tale and wonderful backstory on them and their crew. Can be read as a stand-alone Or enjoyed with the rest of the series. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher
