Suspenseful story with great narration.

The story kept me guessing till the end. Some moments of repetitive dialog and explanation, but I didn't lose track of the direction the plot was headed. The narrator seemed an excellent choice for the main character, and he did a great job of creating distinct voices for all the other characters.

Look forward to more books and audiobooks by this team.

Hardboiled mystery, noir and gay

The story was intelligently written, albeit highly detailed and a trifle long. Despite me being a straight 73 year old female, I found the characters realistic and relatable. At first, the all gay storyline was a bit jarring, but by putting orientation aside, it was an engrossing, fast paced tale. I had enjoyed some of Rice's early works and it appears his style has only improved.

Almost thought I had read it before.

Nice plot twists. Not too graphic but still disturbing in a nice way. I think he's used the same plot devices in something else he wrote.

Never a dull moment

I’ve read every one of Christophers books but had missed this one. He’s a superb story teller; the dialogue was electric and the voice variations from the narrator were pretty magical.

Wow

this has been one of the best stories I have ever lesson to gas a plot and excitement keeps you on the edge not knowing were the store is going.
