How to make history interesting

This is a truly wonderful series. It brings to life aspects of history that are obscure and have been in many cases swept to the side and forgotten. Picture national treasure but with navy seals not Nicolas cage. The author and the narrator are a pair that delivers the goods. I have learned much after looking into and researching the subjects the author covers in fiction. The fact basis is amazing and truly a great educational springboard into histories mysteries. Highly recommend. I received this audiobook from the author narrator or publisher for free via audiobookboom in exchange for an unbiased review.

"Hell Ship" - Hell of a good read!

If you could sum up Hell Ship in three words, what would they be?

What happens next?

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Did not know where the story was going. Kept me in anticipation of the next turn of events.

Which scene was your favorite?

As a scuba diver, I liked the diving scenes. Pretty true to life. The author knows what he is talking about.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I can see myself in a hammock on a deserted beach, under a shaded palm tree, just kicking back and letting the story flow.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the story and performance. I am a professional captain and diver, so many of these scenes are true to life. I enjoyed learning some historical facts, that the book is based on. Very interesting. I also liked the narration. Jeffrey Kafer does a great job. Fun "read"!

Hell ship

Any additional comments?

The story has several tense moments especially while Dane was inside the sunken ship. It was a suspense since nobody knew what will happen next. It is very well narrated

Hell Ship

Is the next good audiobook in the Dane and Bones Origins series, David and Sean have worked together perfectly, both fine writer's in their own rights. It has lots of good characters, some humor and action. This book hits on all cylinders. Content and narration go together perfectly, even better than I anticipated. I will continue on to book 3 in the series at some point in the near future.

Unpredictable action thriller!

What did you love best about Hell Ship?

Suspense, lots of plot twists and turns, right up until the end.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot kept me guessing, and I was drawn into the story. The characters are distinctive and memorable. I couldn't wait to get back in the car and see what happened next!

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

I like narrators like Jeffrey who "become" the various characters in the book. He made a convincing Bones, but still had convincing voices for Alex and Gabby. He has a really pleasant voice to listen too, and is a great fit for the Dane and Bones series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Several times I laughed out loud, usually at something inappropriate that Bones said. He's my favorite character in the book.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to listening to more Dane and Bones books!
