Publisher's summary

This is the prequel to my Echo Platoon series, a novella introducing my upcoming heroes: U.S. Navy SEALs.

Tyler Rexall never considered being anything besides a Navy SEAL. But a mission-gone-wrong has ended his career in the Teams, leaving Tyler handicapped, his self-identity obliterated. Returning to his hometown of Louisa, Virginia, Tyler wallows in despair. He has no idea that the young woman showing up on his doorstep with a dog holds his future in the palms of her hands.

Katie Crowley's lifelong crush on the formidable "T-Rex" hasn't waned one iota in the last decade. Seeing him beaten down and disabled arouses her determination to help him, even as she's being terrorized by a desperate man who is getting bolder by the day. Can Katie convince a proud man like Tyler to accept that a service dog might change his life? Unfortunately, she may not get the chance or the time to heal him as her heart demands, not when her stalker returns for a final encounter.

Quick, Heartwarming, Exciting Romantic Suspense

What made the experience of listening to Look Again the most enjoyable?

It was a combination of the engaging plot, likeable characters and narrator's strong storytelling.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the hero's character growth and friendship with his dog and the heroine's compassion.

Which character – as performed by David Brenin – was your favorite?

Tyler- came alive for me

but he did a good job with the female voice of Katie.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the turning point when Tyler called Katie to apologize and try to start over with her.

Any additional comments?

It's a novella so of course it was short and too the point. I felt it moved to tender feelings quick, but not beyond expectation quick. The epilogue was a nice touch. I was left with a desire for more of the series and a feeling of enjoyment for this story.

Great start!!

This is a novella about a war veteran that is back state side after an accident took his career. He has to move back to his hometown and is bitter and depressed. Then a blast from his past bulldozes her way into his life and makes him realize all is not lost. I can't wait to hear the rest of the series.

Great Start From An Author Who Never Disappoints!!

Where does Look Again rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed this audio book a lot. It is in the top 10 audios I have listened to so far. I will listen to it again as it was well written and well preformed.

What other book might you compare Look Again to and why?

Skin Deep by Pamela Clare. The wounded warrior that learns to live and love again.

Which scene was your favorite?

Playing ball with Bronco!!!! LOL

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book in one sitting. The narrator was well chosen. He added to the reading of the book with the emotions he entered into his dialog and his impeccable timing.

Any additional comments?

This audible book was given to me for an honest review. I had previously purchased the e-book so I could help contribute to the War Dog foundation.

Look Again, a novella

What did you love best about Look Again?

I love books about Navy SEALs meeting their strong counterpart and you add in a service dog and you have a great combination. The fact that proceeds from the sale will be donated to this nonprofit organization: Hero Dogs made the book more enjoyable for me. The fact that Tyler has a disability and overcomes it, shows that people need to realize that some disabilities can become a just smaller description in a person's life story...not the entire theme of it. I loved this story.

What other book might you compare Look Again to and why?

Marliss Melton's Navy SEALs books are reminiscent of Suzanne Brockmann's Navy SEALs book. Both authors are favorites of mine!

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

This book is the first audio book I have ever listened to. I have to say that I did not enjoy it as much as I enjoyed reading it. I read the Kindle version when the book was first released. Having already read the book, I already had a "vision" of how Tyler Rexall and Katie Crowley were. After all, Tyler is a Navy SEAL (an alpha..."the only easy day was yesterday") and Katie is a dog trainer (where the trainer is always the alpha of the pack...having trained dogs for years, I know this for a fact). However, the reader's voice did not lend to the characters' personality. I felt that Tyler came off more weakly than I had envisioned him to be and the reader's falsetto, breathless voice for Katie, gave me the impression that she was a weakling.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Wow....any book by Marliss Melton is a book I would like to read in one setting....if only I didn't have other responsibilities getting in my way of enjoying her books.!

Any additional comments?

Marliss Melton's books give the reader an insight into what our service people go through to ensure our nation's safety. Katie is suffering from PTSD and Tyler comes home after a career changing disability. They have to learn to overcome their disabilities in order to find their happiness.

New Series

Any additional comments?

An introduction to a new series by an author I've enjoyed reading for many years, LOOK AGAIN introduces the Echo Platoon. I've seen first hand the impact a service dog can have. Having that be central in the story was fun to read. I've already begun listening to DANGER CLOSE, the first full length story in the series!

Great short listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes I would. While it's a short listen it is an awesome story. Everything about it was things I love it's got great service dogs and a wounded warrior who learns he is still needed

What did you like best about this story?

That Katie helped Tyler realize he was still a warrior and could help people by giving him Bronco

Have you listened to any of David Brenin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to one other book narrated by David Brenin and I loved how he did it. This one was just as well done as the other I listened to

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Katie and Tyler took Brunco to see his Mom in the nursing home and she said something that gave Tyler piece with her dementia

Any additional comments?

While this is a short listen it is great story and well worth your time and a credit. I am listening to this series in the wrong order but I've enjoyed every one of these stories so far and can't wait to listen to the rest of them

Good book

This was a good short story. I love how the character didn't take forever to talk about their lives/feelings. It was refreshing.
