Old friend and when is the next one?

If you could sum up Rise of the Alliance in three words, what would they be?

Not going tohappen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rise of the Alliance?

I find this question a bit silly. The most memorable moments are pretty well the same in all his books, but a bit difference. The Security Chief is still sassy. The Captain is slowly losing his whininess, and Ryk did move to hasten this. Okay, a memorable seen is when Captain yells at the newly introduced Captain. You'll know it when you get there. You will be thinking, "about damn time!"

Which character – as performed by Jeffrey Kafer – was your favorite?

This is impossible. Jeffrey has built a voice cast that is clear and consistent. An old character can appear in a scene out of no where with no introduction and I can tell who it is. This is across all the books! Jeffrey is superb. I have never had to skip back, or wished he would read faster. He's great for this long series.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the security chief gets her family back. As written you feel her joy and in the background you feel the grief of a planet.

Any additional comments?

Some of the battle scenes get long. I still have a tendency to yell at the captain in my head about "jump jump now!" But I do that less and so Ryk is on track considering this series cover a year or less.

I buy these and listen to them because they are old friends, predictable, startling, silly, serious, glib.

Oh, don't start in the middle, without the background you will accuse me of being crazy.

Another great addition to the series

If you like space operas with lots of combat and well written battle scene then both this book and series will be for you. I love this series and would place it on par with the Lost Feet series by Jack Campbell. I also enjoy the Narrator. Though I would recommend starting with book one.

Great story, narrative lacking...

Great story, great characters. narrator likes the drama. whisper then SCREAM, whisper YELL, whisper... If u need new speakers or ear drums, this is the book for you!!

Good space opera.

A slot of times in multi book series some things get old. Like the jump drive blue white washing over the bridge. The author played with that finally in this book. And the story is staying somewhat fresh. When the book ended my first thought was "how long till the next one". And it has left me wondering where this is going.

You will not be disappointed

Its that credit not wasted for this and the others in the Series
I do not like to repeat the book when i review
Just be ready for an adventure
