Ellis Parker Butler (1869-1937) was an American author of more than 30 books and more than 2,000 stories and essays. He is best known for his famous short story Pigs Is Pigs, in which a bureaucratic stationmaster insists on levying the livestock rate for a shipment of two pet guinea pigs, which soon start proliferating exponentially.

I remember seeing the old Disney cartoon as a kid with used this story as a basis for its plot. So I was delighted to find a copy of the story being read here on Audible. Fired it up and hoped to be entertained for the 30 minutes that it took to have this read. Instead I lost interest at the 10 minute mark because the narrator either normal accent or what sounds like an exaggerated Irish-American accent ruins the story for me. I lost what was happening and the main gist of the argument with the various levels of bureaucracy at the home office. I didn't even realize the story ended until I heard the "this was audible..." tag.
