Publisher's summary

An increasingly crippled Hank struggles to keep the various factions of Belvaille in check after the collapse of the Colmarian Confederation.

Hank, as Supreme Kommilaire and Secretary of City, has several hundred police to try to maintain order among the millions of inhabitants on the space station while simultaneously preparing for Belvaille's first ever election.

He thinks it is an impossible task. Every year the city and even the galaxy falls further into chaos as he succumbs to the debilitating effects of his mutation.

With economic turmoil everywhere, a dirty election in the works, and the galaxy's foremost assassin hunting him, Hank has to decide if he can save Belvaille. Or if it's even worth saving.

NOTE: Sequel to Hard Luck Hank - Screw the Galaxy and Hard Luck Hank - Basketful of Crap

Funny

The series just keeps getting funnier and funnier. Steven Campbell has a real talent for comedy and plotting a good story. As for the reading, I will forever associate Liam Owen's rendition as the voice of Hank! Great fun and highly recommended!

Awesome again!

This is a super entertaining series in all aspects: story, characters, performance, etc. I hope there are many more books written.

THIS BOOK IS STOOPID!

Would you consider the audio edition of Hard Luck Hank: Prince of Suck to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print version, But the audible version is great. Greatly stupid, greatly unbelievable, and greatly entertaining! Oh, it ain't deep, or profound by a long ways. But it is funny and entertaining. Just perfect for a light read that will make you chuckle. But I recommend that you start with the first book. Otherwise you just won't get it.

What did you like best about this story?

Hank. He is a most original character. Kind of like the good bad guy we all root for, even though he may be on the wrong side. 'cept in this universe, it's the only side, and you wouldn't have it any other way!

Which character – as performed by Liam Owen – was your favorite?

Hank, again. I really like this guy.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

When your problems are to big to handle, call Hank. He's bigger than they are!

Any additional comments?

Just read it. Light, funny, and original!

Another diamond from the mind of Steven Campbell

7 years ago i found solace in the world of "Hard Luck Hank". i was going through life altering events that irrevocably changed my perspective on reality. When i needed catharsis, nothing could provide comfort. i found this series and my initial reaction was that the voice actor sounded bored and lazy until i realized he was doing an exceptional job embodying the character he portrayed. The first book did the trick. Someone that didn't really exist was real in my mind and that was... incredible. the second book made me realize i was hooked because i was sad it was over. Hank was Hank even though the world changed around him but he still adapted to it, so he was a new Hank. The side characters deliver just as hard as the main character (my favorite being Delovo). Then, when i thought it was over for good, Steven delivered AGAIN! This book takes a new perspective on Hank, acknowledging the fault of his greatest power; his mutation. Not one aspect was overlooked and if you read the whole series several times, you just keep finding stuff that was foreshadowed. I won't tell you this story is the best in the series but it's not even close to disappointing. when i was at my lowest, Hank, the hard luck hero; was my hero. Even after seven years i still listen to this series and it brings me back home inside. It teaches you about acceptance and growth beyond your limitations. it teaches you about painful and real concepts without all the pain of going through it yourself if you're willing to listen and it won't bite. I recommend this book. You don't even need to read the first two to get into it because it was constructed so well! I still recommend the first two, however. Delovo would be jealous of this genius and Cliston would have a manual written on the complexities of this fine art. Sometimes I'll even listen twice in a row just to see if i missed something. 15 miles out of 5 stars, highly highly highly recommend. This book is an adventure of the soul through the absurd and unknown. This book will change your entire life. Give it a shot and you won't regret it

Really funny

I saw other reviews that said that this book was good, but don't expect great writing. I disagree. The author writes the story from Hank's viewpoint, narration and all, and NEVER breaks character. Liam Owen's performance reading this book is so perfect that I found myself speaking like Hank throughout the day. He really understood the character and his delivery was incredibly funny. Better yet...this series continues and gets better as it goes along. I've read the first three books and can't wait til the others are available on audio.

Thank you to Steven Campbell, to Liam Owen, and to Audible. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this series.

Another Enjoyable Hank Adventure

Where does Hard Luck Hank: Prince of Suck rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's near the top and I listen to a lot of titles.

What other book might you compare Hard Luck Hank: Prince of Suck to and why?

Other than the other Hard Luck Hank books...along the lines of the D-List Supervillain series. Because they both have interesting main characters and infuse humor with the action and storyline.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this novel's twists and turns, and of course, Hank. He's not exactly the same as the first to novels, but after what he's survived, that's to be expected.

As always Campbell managed to introduce a wide gamut of events that at first appeared unconnected. Having listened to the two previous novels in the series, I was able to guess some of the connections that got tied up in the end.
