I enjoyed every single musing. The one about living on a bridge was cute and I loved the one about the little glass beads and the old beaded purse. The stop light story was cute and I especially liked the one about the sea glass and shells. I also liked the section about eating out while traveling.
This audiobook was a little gem and I would love to hear more from the author LAURIE BYRNE SMITH. I think much of her writing would resonate well with many people.
LEE ANN HOWLETT did a terrific job narrating this audiobook. I enjoy listening to her somewhat southern drawl. I've listened to her before and have liked everything by her. She has a way of embodying the story and making it feel as if it's hers. This was a delightful listen.

Ms Howlett performs this series of monologues so well that it seems as if there is a friend sitting at your kitchen table sipping coffee and chatting while you do simple chores. Thanks for that!

These are witty, short observations written about Floridians. Laurie Byrne Smith takes her personal life experiences to send back to her friends in North Carolina. I thoroughly enjoyed it until the very end.
When Smith inserted political correctness, abuse, etc. I did not expected nor did I understand what it added to the book. If I want to be lectured I'll turn on the television or read about politicians.
It seems a lot of grumbling about the what price Smith values her work to be -much deeper and command a better price, in her opinion- does not happen in the marketplace. People buy what they want to read whether Smith thinks it is fair or not.
An athlete making more than a university president bothers her and so on it goes.
If I could speak with the author I would say, "This is the profession you chose. You went in knowing it is a very competitive industry and what, if any, compensation you would receive." Be happy, don't lecture me with your ideas of utopia.
It was very awkward and left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Why ruin a perfectly good book by throwing politics into it? I don't understand. I'm really upset with the author that I had to include the previous paragraphs.
The narration is by Lee Ann Howlett. She had a rather deep and solid voice, professional.
Notes: Nothing to warn of here as far as raciness. If you want to receive the full enjoyment of the book I would skip the last chapter. To me it distracted rather than added to the previous 24 chapters.
