Laura left Jon for New York five years earlier to become a dancer. Jon told himself he was over Laura, and he definitely no longer loved her.
When Laura's horse is spooked by a siren, he falls in the neighbor's pool and Jon saves him.
How far will this matchmaking Christmas horse have to go to bring Jon and Laura back together?

Considering the title of the book includes the word Horse, I was happy to find that there was a horse predominantly featured in the book. That horse is Laura's 20-something year old horse, Red. Now, if you're a horse lover and/or owner, Laura and Jon's first interaction in years is due to a scene that might make you want to cry, or, at the very least, tie your stomach up in knots. Just remember, this is a happy story in which nobody dies (even though the reality of how the pool scene could have ended for Red is chilling).
Through the horse scare, Laura and Jon were forced to interact once again and Jon was none too pleased about it. All of that being said, they both learn about things that happened while they were apart that make them view the separation in a new light. In the end, everybody (including Red) lives HEA.
Rachael Messer's narration was okay, but not great. The male voices pretty much all sounded the same. There was only one female voice so I don't know if that would be the case with female voices as well.
Reuniting over what could've been a tragedy.
