It all started with a blind promise - now Preston Wilson faces a dilemma that will ultimately destroy him or define him.

In The Collectibles, Book One of the Collectibles trilogy, James J. Kaufman delivers the gripping and unforgettable story of Joe Hart and Preston Wilson, two strong men from different worlds - one touched by tragedy, the other by greed - brought together by a promise that changes six lives forever.

In The Concealers, Book Two of the trilogy, Kaufman's listeners meet Katherine Kelly, a budding journalist driven to find the truth. As she investigates bank fraud in Long Island, she discovers the identity of her father, only to learn that he is being drawn into her investigation. Too soon, she learns the agony and price of the truth she seeks.

In The Conciliators, the conclusion of the Collectibles trilogy, Preston Wilson's life is once again imploding - this time as headline news, bylined by Katherine Kelly. Under fire thanks to the financial shenanigans of a longtime friend, the CEO finds himself in trouble with the FBI, the Russian Mafia, and his creditors. If he doesn't come up with a plan (and quickly), he could lose everything and find himself, his wife, and his shareholders in prison.

Inspired by Joe Hart's life lessons, Preston sets a new course, vowing to fight for what matters most: his family, his friends, and the Collectibles.

Mr. Kaufman is such an amazing writer, who has the ability to weave such a variety of characters, situations, areas of interest and varying careers, intense and traumatic events, that is nothing short of brilliant! On top of this, his novels evoke one's every emotion and truly melt the heart.
I love novels with substance, not fluff, yet despite the trying events the characters may suffer, to my relief, they ultimately prevail and there is a happy ending, which is the ultimate joy!
Joe Barrett is an excellent narrator and does an awesome job on all 3 novels in this trilogy.
There are references to prayer and trusting God in the novels and I'm very grateful for that, as I am a believer in God, His Word and the power of prayer. Many principles from God's Word are contained in the books, without being referenced, but it's easy to see the parallels if one has a mind to.
The battle of good versus evil, as well as hard choices we all have to make in life, and the strength and fortitude to endure through heart-rending pain and loss are a few of the parallels and life lessons I've alluded to.
I would give all 3 novels in this trilogy 50 stars in each category, if it was available. In closing, I highly recommend "The Collectibles " series and believe each novel would greatly enrich the lives of every listener and reader who chooses to enjoy them.

A novel and series everyone could learn from!

Good feel good trilogy with an easy listen to boot.
I’ll miss the collectibles unless we get another invitation to the Hamptons party thrown by Preston étal that is.

Solid trilogy

The conclusion of The Collectibles Trilogy is a legal thriller, with the Russian mafia closing in on Katherine as she investigates the bank fraud case that she is reporting on. Preston, having reneged on his promise to Joe Hart to keep in touch with and care for "The Collectibles" finds himself in a precarious position, both in his business and in his personal life. Having been led into financial ruin by hiring an old friend from prep school and not listening to the sound advice of his CFO, Casey, Preston has fallen back into old habits, and is on the brink of losing everything, including his wife, Marsha . . . and possibly going to jail . . . I found myself shaking my head and getting mad at Preston for reverting back into his old, familiar ways . . . until I admitted that we ALL do that to some extent . . . but for the grace of God, we all would be miserable failures . . . the "something" that Joe Hart saw in Preston, and the other "collectibles" kept coming back to mind . . . and Preston's new relationship with Katherine, his daughter that he was now coming to know and love became a positive foundation in his life at a time that he most needed it . . . all of the collectibles soon came back into the picture, one by one, beautiful . . . and flawed . . . each with their own story of pain and healing . . . and of caring for one another . . . this trilogy is one of the most meaningful stories of the strength of the human spirit and how "each one can reach one" . . . and although the mention of God is subtle, its there and it is understood that our strength and hope come from Him . . .
