You may not like the message of Out of a Far Country, but you would do yourself a great disservice by not listening or reading this book. While approaching to topic without being crud or graphic, Christopher Yuan tells us about his sexual exploits while living as a homosexual. It is a subject that is rarely discussed. He does not imply that his story reflects the average person committed to this lifestyle; however, he does not shy away from the topic. Christopher teaches us that change is possible in one of the areas we consider most intimate to all of us, our sexuality. The most surprising quality of this book is Christopher and Mrs. Yuan’s honest and unapologetic recounting of a life powerfully, shockingly, unexpectedly transformed. Its raw and explicit retrospection bares the core of their souls. It gives insight into cultural clashes, identity misplacement and the final place of deepest contentment. Their journey speaks to the misunderstandings that may be present within both the LGBTQ and Christian communities and lays a truthful Biblical understanding of human sexuality.
