Publisher's summary

They have been preppers for four years, and have prepared a retreat where they can hunker down and survive an EMP that cripples the entire country. The group, consisting of three couples, must now reunite in Prescott, Arizona, the site of their bug out location. Two of the couples must use power line easements and old cattle trails to find their way to their ranch in Prescott. They face many challenges during their grueling journey, which they make on ATVs. Meanwhile, the third couple hunkers down at the ranch and prepares for the arrival of their friends.

The Prepper's Crucible is the first of a three-part series. Follow along as the group struggles to survive and thrive in a world gone mad.

Well spoken ideas of what could happen

he didn't try to make it sci fi, instead just what he thought might happen. I liked that. no Hollywood explosions

More of an education than fiction.

The fun fluff of a fiction novel is sacrificed for education. If purchased for the tips you will not be disappointed except that it ends so quickly.
Good book, Great performance.

Condensed Prepping

Great story, even though only 2 hours 48 minutes, packed with prepping info
in an entertaining story.

3 couples form the nucleus of a prepping group, Don and Kate, Ed and Anne,
and Bud and Mary. They prepped for 4 years before the EMP hit.

Don, retired from the military after 20 years, and his wife Kate, a banker, live on
a 6 acre ranch, which is the bug-out location..

Ed is a firefighter, and his wife Anne, a hospital worker.
Bud is a general contractor and his wife Mary a schoolteacher.

Lots of useful information. Use of ATVs. Don helped some stranded motorists
and his neighbors when the EMP first hit with rides and practical advice, while
still putting his own family first. Practical advice was get groceries, go home,
and hunker down.

Much practical advice discussed about advance planning, need for group support,
wisdom in planning several routes, rally points etc.

Listened to twice. I will listen to it several more time to help get in my memory
the good points.

Nice story line about the loving relationships of the 3 couples.

I recommend this book and will buy the sequel.
