It's Merciless ... Of Course I Loved It!

I have fallen in love with this series, and Merciless is one of my all time favorite character's. When I need a break from all the serious intense romance I listen too, it is awesome to come across a story that is so refreshingly different, full of banter, dry humor, and lots of laughs but what really makes this audiobook exceptional is the narration.

In my opinion, laughter is one of the best medicines, and anything that is humorous is best experienced when you can hear it or see it, and Jeffrey Kafer really delivered a hilarious performance. In addition to the humor, he did an outstanding job of capturing all the different tones from the driest of humor to the angst Merciless felt towards his loved ones.

Merciless, is such a multi-layered character! He was ever at odds with his internal feelings about being a supervillian, and is so in love with his wife. Each time he faced an obstacle, he just jumped right in with barely a thought or a plan, but somehow he managed to come out on top. Well, there were times when his henchmen, and wife would save him, but he never hesitated.

Loved the story, and the ending really surprised me! I can't wait to see how book three unfolds!

If you are looking for a good story, and laugh, I definitely recommend this story and series!

Excellent sequel

This story is both hilarious and endearing. I've enjoyed both the first and second book and when my next credit comes up, I'm getting the third, without hesitation. Great narration, great writing. Funny and poignant, just all around a great listen.

A fun series!

The Supervillany Saga is such a fun series to listen to. Full of laughs and action! I was a bit surprised at the ending and can't wait to see what happens in book 3. Jeffrey Kafer really brings these characters to life with his narration.

Not your typical Superhero story

Super Fun Story that has it all: super villain prison on the moon, zombified super heroes, More humor, more creatures, more craziness, and more action than book number 1!!!!
Narrator is growing on me....
Happy Reading!!!

Not as good as book 1, but still good

Any additional comments?

I loved book 1 and immediately purchased this book to continue the story. Although I liked the first better, this is still a good book. It's just that it's almost exactly like the first book, which made it just a little boring for me. There wasn't enough changes to keep me hanging onto every word. Yes, by now we know it's a world of superheroes and supervillians. Yes, we know that Gary wants to be bad, but he's so good that it's cute. I hate to say it, but there were a few places where I dozed off. When I woke up, I didn't have to rewind to find my spot because it was pretty easy to realize that I'd missed nothing. At the end, the pace picked up and things started moving, but then we're left with a big cliffhanger.

A fun start for the series

I didn't have high expectations coming into the story, but I found it oddly charming. A bit too absurd, but still fun.

I liked this one too.

“Games of Supervillainy” was as good, if not better than book 1. The story was solid. With a dose of comedy and snark. I know when I am enjoying a series because I begin to have an affinity for the characters, and I do.
