From New York Times bestselling author Terri Blackstock comes the first gripping novel in her If I Run series featuring a strong female protagonist wrongly framed for murder and the troubled investigator who's trying to find her.

Casey Cox knows the truth. But it won't set her free. Her DNA is all over the crime scene. There's no use talking to police; they've failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she's arrested . . . or worse. The truth doesn't matter anymore.

But what is the truth? That's the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren't adding up.

Casey Cox doesn't fit the profile of a killer. But are Dylan's skewed perceptions keeping him from being objective? If she isn't guilty, why did she run?

Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than he has, but as Dylan's damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices: the girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer . . . or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the deadliest weapon yet.

In the If I Run series, Terri Blackstock delivers edge-of-your-seat tension to keep the pages turning, relatable characters, dual perspectives, an intriguing plot with unexpected twists, and themes of faith and redemption. Run--don't walk--to start reading this captivating story today.

What IF questions for the reader

Stuggled to finish due to the incompetent narrator. Glad this was a credit purchase. I would have not wanted to pay to listen to what sounded like a preteen over acting

Worst narrator I've listened to

The storyline was good and kept me interested, and the reading of it was also well produced. Some scenes toward the end, especially concerning the actions of the police needed to be more believable than as they were written. I understand why they were written the way they were, but still found myself asking why wouldn't they have gone about it in another way.

I was especially pleased at the way God and faith were intertwined into the story. As a Christian, I don't always listen to Christian fiction and was so pleased that this book was apparently written by a Christian author, without it being overly preachy. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and will be downloading it as soon as I finish this review so I can find out what happens next.
