Stephen King’s #1 national bestseller about a little mining town, Desperation, that many will enter on their way to somewhere else. But getting out is not easy as it would seem…

"I see holes like eyes. My mind is full of them."

For all intents and purposes, police officer Collie Entragian, chief law enforcement for the small mining town of Desperation, Nevada, appears to be completely insane. He's taken to stopping vehicles along the desolate Interstate 50 and abducting unwary travelers with various unusual ploys. There's something very wrong here in Desperation...and Officer Entragian is only at the surface of it. The secrets embedded in Desperation's landscape, and the horrifying evil that infects the town like some viral hot zone, are both awesome and terrifying. But one of Entragian's victims, young David Carver, seems to know—and it scares him nearly to death to realize this truth—that the forces being summoned to combat this frightful, maniacal aberration are of equal and opposite intensity...

For the most part, I believe it works the same way when authors narrate their own books.
Can't Stephen King just do what he does best? Does he not hear himself?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE his books and own many of them; and have even tried a few times to get through, what I know would have been a great audiobook, if he simply didn't do his own narration. I can't decide if he sounds nasally or monotone. But either way it's too distracting to get into the groove of the story. Because of that I must yet again return another of his books. What a shame.

You know that old saying about a man representing himself has a fool for a client?

Excellent King Novel!, I loved this book, huge bonus to have King narrate! I definitely will look for more books narrated by King, what better way to listen to the story the way the author hears it in his head. Awesome!!! I highly recommend this book to all Stephen King fans!

Outstanding!!! Love Stephen King

love it when King reads his own work. all the accents are as intended, or at least close, and events are treated as the author intended. great story.

lots of action
