Publisher's summary

Following a crippling EMP attack against the USA, and a long merciless journey, college student turned survivalist Danny Walker finally makes it to his secure, rural location. No sooner does Danny arrive than he is given another petrifying prophetic vision of the chaos still to come. Hunger, despair, and panic will push desperate people to commit unthinkable acts against their fellow human beings.

The country has been brought to its knees and the thin veneer of civility has been torn to shreds by the savagery lurking just below the surface. God's providence and glory have been stripped away from the once-great United States of America, and the few remaining survivors come to understand just how dependent they were upon the blessings of the almighty. With no electricity, computers, law enforcement, grocery stores, medical services, or other systems of support, Danny's group will have to prepare to endure the coming onslaught of violence and upheaval on their own. Danny has survived the EMP, but will he live through the most vicious era in US history?

Best book yet!!

His best work yet! A good story that brings tough subject matter to life in a thoughtful way. The thought of such things is scary but there is a heart and purpose to this story that provides a hope to it. i recommend this book and look forward to the next chapter!!

So Much Better

Any additional comments?

The 2nd book is so much better than the first. There is much more meat to the story and the different characters become more endearing. There is quite a bit of quoting of Bible scriptures. It didn't bother me but some may not like it. I enjoyed how the scriptures were used each chapter as an introduction to that chapter's content. Only one maybe two were read each chapter. There was some great prepping ideas but was not the whole story. I thought it was pretty realistic as far as the different situations the group had to work through. Very exciting and very suspenseful. I enjoyed it enough I didn't want it to end and here's why it didn't get five stars. The 3rd book is not available yet to listen to. If it comes within the month I'm ok, but after that I start forgetting details and have to go back and review the previous book. While I'm waiting I will have listened several other books, depending how long it takes. Other than that a great story, fantastic narrator and a book I definitely recommend!

Anxiously awaiting Book #3!!

Any additional comments?

I bought this audio book on the day it became available and I wasn't disappointed! If only we could clone Mark Goodwin so he could keep up with my "prepper fiction" addiction! His books are always exciting, wholesome and loaded with useful tips. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Great book, really gets you to think.

I really liked the lack of foul language. Makes me think of where I'm lacking in my preps.

Can't wait for book Three...

Can't wait for book Three...
Left off at a great point, with wanting more...
Happiness and sorrow, last chapter was a nail bitter...
I hate to think of an EMP, really happening. But if it did; I'm sure the description so vividly told in the story line unfortunately would be true...
Thank you, was even better than book One.
Excited for book three...

Just awesome. As good as book 1.

Love the story, the story teller and the author. I am particularly fond of Mark writing a story that adheres to Christian values.

Mark Goodwin tells apocalyptic tales the best.!

Mark has a knack of telling a good story. I'd call it, "Christian apocalyptic prepper fiction" . His character development is outstanding. Unlike many authors, Mark maintains good continuity throughout his books. I recommend any of his books to my friends and to anyone considering prepper fiction to read. I've received very positive feedback from my friends as we've discussed these books over dinner or a campfire or two.
