Lady Sophie Windham has maneuvered a few days to herself at the ducal mansion in London before she must join her family for Christmas in Kent. Suddenly trapped by a London snowstorm, she finds herself with an abandoned baby and only the assistance of a kind, handsome stranger standing between her and complete disaster.

With his estate in ruins, Vim Charpentier sees little to feel festive about this Christmas. His growing attraction for Sophie Windham is the only thing that warms his spirits - but when Sophie's brothers whisk her away, Vim's most painful holiday memories are reawakened.

Critic reviews

"Supremely sexy, emotionally involving, and graced with well-written dialog, this gently paced, baby-centered story is a fascinating, enjoyable read and nicely connects with the author's earlier books." ( Library Journal)

I've enjoyed all the books in the Windham Series and this one didn't disappoint. James Langton is a new narrator for me and I applaud his performane in this whole series. IMHO the narrator can make or break a book. Mr. Langton certainly made this one and all I've heard him do. Grace Burrowes has become one of my favorite historical authors...she's right up there with Lisa Kleypas. She is masterful as developing enthralling stories, plausible and likeable characters, and witty in-depth dialogue. This book is definitely a keeper....even a repeater.

Well-written, well-developed characters

Did not like the Irish accent for the one brother but overall a very good narration. Story was sweet and heart warming. I liked that both hero and heroine were so adorably good. Sigh worthy

Granted, our main characters were a bit obtuse about their feelings for each other, but I really liked the development of both of them, and the interference by Sophie’s brothers to help the romance along. I’ll be listening to this one again 😊

Really liked these characters

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Lady Sophia’s predicament was believable but unexpected. And Vim’s travels back and forth during a snow storm was endearing but bordering on tedious. Having grown up with 3 uncles to watch out for me I could appreciate Lady Sophia’s protective brothers. Their back story of families with children makes it believable. The intimate scenes and the build up to them were just right to make this story steamy.

A Steamy Christmas Story
