Whether you consider yourself an ultra-conservative Christian who can trace their Roots back to the first century or a modern 21st Christian who attends a megachurch you need to read this book. before you listen to what one more modrrn preachee or pastor has to say on his interpretation of the church that Jesus Christ established, read with the apostles and their early disciples said about the purpose of the Lord's church and how it was to change the world. You might get mad, you will definitely be sad but this book will affect you... you will not be the same afterwards and you will not View the Christianity that is in the world today the same after reading what the writers in the first three centuries wrote about the pattern of the church that the apostles left for them to follow. This book ruined my life!

Mr. Bercot tore apart the watered down Christianity I practice. With continuous historical quotes from contemporaries of the Apostles he shows how radical, hard, and holy the first Christians were and how low modern American Christian standards are.

Very insightful. The author does a good job comparing holy scripture to the early Christian writings which clearly showed the truth in practices of early Christians.
