When Russian soldiers invade Eastern Europe during WWII, they ravage the countryside and terrorize the people. After her mother is murdered, young Ludmelia Kudirka flees to the safety of the forest. Vowing vengeance, she joins the partisan resistance in a David-and-Goliath struggle against Stalin's mighty war machine. A Soviet military officer ordered to crush the Lithuanian resistance is enraged by Ludmelia's escape. Marshalling his killer instincts, he pursues Ludmelia and her fellow warriors into the forest, where he encounters a force he never expected. Rich with scenes and legends of Lithuania, Amber Wolf tells the little-known tale of a people struggling for their freedom against great odds. Long awaited by both the Eastern European community and WW II aficionados, Amber Wolf gels the turmoil of war into the saga of a family torn apart by the Soviet occupation.
