book actually changed my life

honestly, don't read this unless you can handle immensity of its implication. great narrative. flawless.

LaVar Burton should narrate everything.

growing up on reading rainbow is something that im truly greatful for. The excitement in LaVars voice when he would read always managed to lock me into the story. rediscovering Carl Sagans Cosmos in my late 20s was the first time i ever really allowed myself to feel someone elses passion. Carls voice was so engaging and soothing, and his writing so eloquent and impassioned. He truly takes you places. To hear LeVars voice reading Carls words is nothing short of lifechanging. or its just the pot i guess.

Book is Spectacular, Performance is awful

This is one of my favorite all
Time books. I’ve read it multiple times. I was so excited to hear it as an audio book but was sorely disappointed in the audio version. I love LaVar Burton - I’m a STNG fan! And I love Anne Druyan. But their audio performance really took away from this book. It was overacted. They made every single line, every single word, seem like the most spectacular revelation. It was so so so overacted. It was like listening to a high school musical overacted by aspiring actors. I had to stop at chapter 5. I just couldn’t listen to it anymore. I love this book. I don’t want it ruined by the performance.
