Not a dull moment! This book is different in that it doesn't start right before a zombie outbreak, not during, and not immediately. It's further down the road, but while things are still being experimented with and such. There's a lot of politics and money behind the scenes. The only thing I might warn about is the harsh language and crude humor shown by some characters, which honestly made them feel more realistic.

Side note:Did anyone else picture The Smoking Man when Mr. Black was on scene the first couple of times?!

I wasn't sure about the narrator at first, being a bit different from what I've gotten used to, but I warmed up to him quickly. He did voices, accents, and he seemed to actually know the story. I've heard several that it seemed like that it was the reader's first time looking at the book, and that always puts me off. Big points for that not happening here!

Overall: If you like zombies and military action, don't mind blood and guts or an f bomb here and there, I would definitely recommend this!

There is a great novel in here somewhere, overall it was just a good novel. But i think it can be so much more, I'm excited for a sequel.

Solid start!

This is a thrilling, very fast-paced story that has no problem being very graphic and technical. Be prepared for massive carnage (it is a zombie novel after all) and know that no character is guaranteed to make it to the end. There are some fun twists and an extremely satisfying ending, not an annoying cliffhanger. I'm curious to see where the next installment takes this series.

Only someone with a big di... imagination could come up with the chapter headings. They're hilarious and perfect. Gamboa is definitely on my favorite author list now.

Fantastic!
