In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one.

He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything.

Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game.

Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities.

With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job.

His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

Surprisingly, not a whole lot changed. Politicians were still corrupt. Banks still held onto your money. And criminals still committed crime.

Though the black market has become more readily available.

And in that not-so-black market, Felix discovers he has a way to make his power useful after all, and grasps a hold of his chance with both hands.

Out of the Park!

I'd found the combo of Arand and Hays a while back with the Otherlife books and immediately needed more. I listened to all three of those in roughly a week. To be honest, I was skeptical about Super Sales, having been burnt on returning to an author. Some lose the magic through changes in genre or whatever, but I can safely say that did not happen in this case.
While the story itself was decidedly different from Otherlife, it had a familiar vibe that I truly enjoyed. Just like the author's other books, this one kept me guessing at plot points. I've watched and read enough that things can get a little predictable, but I've never had that problem with Arand. I also continue to enjoy Hays' narration. It's truly masterful.
Now my only problem is deciding if I'd rather follow Runner again or start following Felix some more. Guess it won't matter until the next book shows up (for either series). Please don't leave us hanging!

A little to much Mary Sue,

A little to much Mary Sue but still pretty fun. I would recommend as light summer reading.

fun book

i like the premise. the hole what would the average guy do if you had such power. good story can't wait to read more.

Dessert is served!

I started with this book then found the Otherlife series, and I kinda felt like I ate my cake before dinner.

This book is tasty. Awesome characters that make you fall in love, and excellent narration.

Whether you start here or have devowered Otherlife, this book should set well on your palette and make you want more!

Surprisingly fun

While the overall story can get a little bogged down by minor details in relation to the protagonist's powers. The interactions of the characters is fun and entertain to listen to. The excellent performance by the reader adds to the fun. I look forward to any sequels that may come from this story. And now I really want some pancakes.
