Publisher's summary

When Major VanBuren approached me with a very special and highly classified assignment, I felt honored. I'd been waiting for a chance at a covert mission. Imagine my surprise when he hit me with the details - he wanted me to befriend his 18-year-old daughter, newly arrived in town and harboring a broken heart. My new "assignment" entailed becoming a glorified babysitter and her new BFF; I thought it was as honorable as being in charge of the cafeteria - complete bullsh*t if you ask me.

And then I met her...

Olivia is all legs, golden hair, and she has the most captivating blue eyes I've ever seen.

While my mind tells me to keep things on the up-and-up, my d*ck has other plans. What was supposed to be an easy bullsh*t mission is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous things I've ever been tasked to do.

Watching over her

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoy listening , a nice light-hearted story . What starts out as a 'mission' for Major VanBuren quickly turns into more and he falls head-over-heels for Olivia.

Cute Story!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

More of an epilogue

How could the performance have been better?

The audio felt a bit hollow, and didn't quite flow together. Also the narrators voices didn't fit the characters for me.

Any additional comments?

This is a cute story with some kink, and I enjoyed it! I liked that the characters relationship started as a friendship, and progressed into more. I enjoyed the forbidden element of romancing the boss' daughter, and also that Evan was asked by Olivia's father to befriend her; I wanted to see how that would play out, and I enjoyed the military aspect. Olivia's heart has been broken a couple times, so she has trust issues. Olivia is 18, so she a bit naïve, and Evan is around 24, so I was having a bit of hard time feeling the connection between the two, but I stilled liked their relationship, and I liked that they have similar interests that brought them closer. They also have some hot times! I found this story entertaining, and I enjoyed the angst between the characters at times. I wish there were more of an epilogue, and I wish the time jumps were a bit shorter. I listened to the audiobook version of this story, and I don't feel the narrators were the right choice for this book, and I felt the quality of audio was great, but as the book went on, I grew used to it, but I still feel like the audio didn't really add to my enjoyment of the book. All in all, I liked this, and I'll continue to check out books by Terry Towers.

A sizzling read!

It was a good, enjoyable read that keeps you entertained throughout the reading of this novel.

Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.

The narrator, as usual, was amazing. Loved listening to the narration! Very good.

Watching over Her

What did you love best about Watching Over Her?

I received a free review copy for my review
This is a story of a young, inexperienced girl and a sergeant assigned to befriend her by her father. Though it's obvious by that premise how the story would conclude, the storytelling to get there was enjoyable. It has the usual HEA

Good Listen

Good story, he wanted to help her get over her shyness by taking her on friendly outings. They fell in love during this time.

Disappointed

I was given this book as a gift from the narrator in exchange for an honest review.

I had a hard time finishing this book. In my opinion it tried too hard to be sexy but I believe it went overboard.
Don't think I would read any more from this author.

Not quite there

I was given a free copy of this audible in return for a review. I was asked to review this for the narrator rather than the author. I really wanted to like the story but unfortunately I simply could not connect with it.

The heroine of this story begins as a 17 almost 18 year old and however, the narrator is much older. Because of this, the story simply failed to make me connect to her characters. Her other character voices also failed to make a connection. Unfortunately this time, I just could not get past the bad narration to finish the book.

Lastly, the quality of the recording is poor with narration mistakes.

Watching Over Her

What would have made Watching Over Her better?

The author didn't make the story believable.

No one thinks its possible a father will ask a man to watch over his barely legal daughter, but in fiction , everything is possible.

I was waiting for instant love/lust, alpha male romance, but the heroine was too immature at times. I couldn't see her with the hero. They were too different. Olivia is still a teenager and a broken heart is natural at that age.

A broken heart doesn't make a father choose a male companion for his daughter.

Olivia and Evan didnt work "in real life". The authors writing didn't convince me the connection between them was real.
