A brilliantly original high-concept murder mystery from a fantastic new talent: Gosford Park meets Inception by way of Agatha Christie.

'Somebody's going to be murdered at the ball tonight. It won't appear to be a murder, and so the murderer won't be caught. Rectify that injustice and I'll show you the way out.'

It is meant to be a celebration, but it ends in tragedy. As fireworks explode overhead, Evelyn Hardcastle, the young and beautiful daughter of the house, is killed. But Evelyn will not die just once. Until Aiden - one of the guests summoned to Blackheath for the party - can solve her murder, the day will repeat itself over and over again. Every time ending with the fateful pistol shot.

The only way to break this cycle is to identify the killer. But each time the day begins again, Aiden wakes in the body of a different guest. And someone is determined to prevent him ever escaping Blackheath....

Really liked the twist of this story where the narrator is living the same day in different bodies with their abilities and disadvantages and their perspectives of the day to solve a murder. More of this please!

Very excellently twisted ‘who done it’

The narrator did a fantastic job of telling this story and the embodiment of each character. I will admit the plot kind of felt a bit clunky near the end when everything was coming to light but what an intricate tale I really loved it. I did feel like it hitched a bit on the main character keeping some of his actions secret to the reader but great.

This was such a good tale! I loved it!

Five stars are not enough.
Enthralling as you experience being multiple victims, perpetrators, advocates, accusers and think deeply of punishments and forgiveness.

I’m betting the story out twists and turns anyone who listens!

The narrator is absolutely lovely!
He’s got the feelings captured in his voice!

So very, very well done.

The Golden Buzzer!

Although on paper the story is very interesting and original, the book was very hard to finish. I couldn't feel any connection with the characters, the pace of the book was very slow. The story itself was quite interesting and that kept me wanting to finish it, but it took a lot to actually manage it. Overall a bit meh.

Interesting story

There are so many plot twists that my hips are hurting. I'd love to see a visual representation of all events.

it's clever, it's period and had me wanting for more at the end of every chapter. Not in a cliff-hanger-Dan-Brownish way, but in a what's next!!! way.

go for it

it's a Sci-Fi book and you won't even notice it!
