My name is Sebastian Lindstrom, and I'm the villain of this story.

I've decided to lay myself bare. To tell the truth for once in my hollow life, no matter how dark it gets. And I can assure you, it will get so dark that you'll find yourself feeling around the blackened corners of my mind, seeking a door handle that isn't there.

Don't mistake this for a confession. I neither seek forgiveness nor would I accept it. My sins are my own. They keep me company. Instead, this is the true tale of how I found her, how I stole her, and how I lost her.

She was a damsel, one who already had her white knight. But every fairy tale has a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all down. A scoundrel who will set the world on fire if that means he gets what he wants. That's me.

I'm the bad guy.

After finishing Celia Aaron’s wonderfully dark and delicious Acquisition Trilogy I knew I wanted more of this gifted author’s work.. and this story certainly didn’t disappoint. Because she managed to make me swoon and fall in love with Sebastian, a handsome, sexy, psychotic, rich business tycoon who, from the moment he met Teacher Camille, became obsessed. And he handled it in the only way he knew how.. by kidnapping her, spoiling her and keeping her in his gilded mansion.

Camille had been torn away from the life she knew.. from friends, from her much loved career and from her boyfriend.. a boyfriend she couldn’t commit to because something was missing.. and Camille found that something in her kidnapper’s arms. Sebastian lacked the empathy gene but he made up for it with his caring words, his thoughtful acts, his possessive ways and his sexual touches. But she was still a prisoner and, until she was free and able to make her own choices, Camille was always going to run.. and Sebastian was always going to catch her because Sebastian couldn’t live, couldn’t love and couldn’t function without her.

Worth a credit? Yup 100% YES. It was unique, refreshing and a really enjoyable dual POV story.. it captured my thoughts and possessed me as the plot line slowly unravelled to reveal a real gem of an awesome story. This is my own personal take.. but I’ve listened to dark before and I just didn’t get that vibe from this riveting listen that had angst, drama, sexcapades and touching tender times as two souls connected and got things deliciously wrong.. before they got things oh so right. Well done Ms. Aaron (insert clapping sound here) another five star story.. and I couldn’t fault the excellent narration either.

WOW, THIS AUTHOR CERTAINLY DELIVERS

The book was pretty good.. But I hate books that end with with pregnancy being a “happily ever after” for the characters. Ruins the whole book for me personally. Meh.

Good but stupid ending

I listened to this book not knowing what to expect. Turns out I loved it. Sebastian is awesome even if he didn't try to be.

You know, this book wasn’t as dark as I was expecting. Since the Hero was supposed to be a psychopath, I expected a lot more cruelty. However, as the story continues, it is evident that the Hero is not a true psychopath, because he has feelings for the Heroine and for his father. In truth, I’m glad the Hero ends up being a better person than I expected, it made for a much better romantic tale.
