Gaillac, southwest France.

An unsolved case.

Gil Petty, America's most celebrated wine critic, is found strung up in a vineyard, dressed in the ceremonial robes of the Order of the Divine Bottle and pickled in wine.

An uncracked code.

For forensic expert Enzo Macleod, the key to this unsolved murder lies in decoding Petty's mysterious reviews - which could make or break a vineyard's reputation.

An uncorked criminal.

Enzo finds that beneath the tranquil façade of French viticulture lurks a backstabbing community riddled with rivalry - and someone who is ready to stop him even if they have to kill again.

Enzo is a charming flawed man, who loves his two daughters, someone all parents can relate to. these books keep me on the end of my seat and I truly hate to put them down. I highly recommend this author.

Excellent reader and characters

Okay, fifteen words. Hm.
Interesting and gripping story, well performed, but oh, so backwards when it comes to the portraits of women, sadly.

obsolete view of women

This is the second Peter May book I have listened to on Audible, I found the first more interesting, in the second the characters became more clichéd.
It was still an OK yarn but it wasn't as compelling and a bit formulaic.

Another Enzo McCloud tale
