What a mess. This was not supposed to happen.

This isn't where Nick Owen thought he would be by this point in life. He used to be a busy web programmer. Now, he spends most of his energy trying to stop his three-year-old twins from playing in a dirty sand pit. Nick thinks of himself as Daddy 3.0, a stay-at-home dad - but he just wasn't programmed for this.

He must navigate a new world of jungle gyms and play dates while supporting his surgeon wife. He tries his best to be there for the twins, but he can't stop making a mess of things. He's just about nearing the end of his rope when the Swing Incident happens. The Swing Incident, spoken of in hushed tones around Nick's New York City apartment building, has caused the resident queen bee, nicknamed "Supermom", to declare him an enemy for life. No matter what Nick does to get back into Supermom's good graces, he fails spectacularly.

Now, Nick's going to have to learn to fight fire with fire and become the best super-parent on the block. This hilarious new book by Rob Armstrong chronicles one man's journey into the world of modern fatherhood - one botched haircut, playground fight, and dirty diaper at a time.

Stay-at-home dads have a new hero, of sorts.

So, this was like Mr. Mom merged with The Incredibles. As a father myself, it made for a very enjoyable and fun experience. Definitely worth checking out.

This book was a wonderful illustration of life in the parental trenches. Parents of both sexes have to traverse many obstacles to raise their little ones to adulthood. This is Nick Owen's story.

We see Nick as a fledging stay-at-home dad to twin girls. Over the course of the book he grows into his role while managing the many bumps along the way, most significantly keeping his working wife happy.

We applaud when he succeeds, wince when he fails (which he does often), and cringe every time 'super Mom' comes into view.

The narration was really good. I've listened to several Wehrlen books and it always amazes me that he captures the essence of his characters so well.

This is not a laugh-out-loud book of funny but it does hit the smirk button, especially for us parents.

Very enjoyable

What made the experience of listening to Daddy 3.0: A Comedy of Errors the most enjoyable?

As a stay at home mom I do enjoy these stories of men trying to do what we do. He really started out pretty crummy, and made a lot of dumb or lazy choices but as the book went on it was fun to watch him grow and be a better dad and then want to be a better dad and husband. It was a sweet story with a lot of comedy with the kids and then the other mom's in their building. I loved how he didn't use their names but gave them names based on their personality types - the annoying Supermom, Goodheart, and Lion Tamer were just a few of the main ones. It was a interesting switch in the story when I started actually rooting for him to do better... in the beginning he started out with a bad attitude and was rather annoying and I honestly wasn't sure I wanted to finish the book. I am glad I did. I do agree with one of the other reviewers that this would make a great movie.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was more shock in some of his boneheaded choices... knowing that disaster was coming next.

Any additional comments?
