From the best-selling author of the Supervillainy saga

Jane Doe is a weredeer, the least-threatening shapechanger species in the world. Blessed with the ability to turn furry at will and psychically read objects, Jane has done her best to live a normal life working as a waitress at the Deerlightful Diner. She has big dreams of escaping life in the supernatural-filled town of Bright Falls, Michigan, and her 18th birthday promises the beginning of her teenage dreams coming true.

Unfortunately, her birthday is ruined by the sudden murder of her best friend's sister in an apparent occult killing. Oh, and her brother is the primary suspect. Allying with an eccentric FBI agent, the local crime lord, and a snarky werecrow, Jane has her work cut out for her in turning her big day around.

Thankfully, she's game.

Set in the same world as Straight Outta Fangton.

I liked the premise for this book, but what I really loved was the world building aspect. What if supernatural races revealed themselves to the public? How society would be changed?

The story is solid and the characters are relatable. You feel an emotional cinection with Jane and the rest of the crew immediately. I really enjoyed the relationships among the inhabitants of Bright Falls and the mysteries of this small town.

This first book in the series is very enjoyable and I cannot wait to see where this story is going!

This was a very good listen. The story was a bit funny and quirky. It was a nice change to the usual alpha shifter, rip everyone apart, kind of book. The narration was excellent with each character having their own voice and personality.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

I actually enjoyed listening to this, enough to want to listen to the next part. It has an interesting main character, a unique, good narration, and five stars.

This book surprised in in that I was expecting a funny, snarky detective story. and it was. The surprising part was the development of the world it was set in. The author really took some time to think out the world and the social aspects to the different types of shifters in the book. The way business and government would react to this type of new world was thought out also.
I was originally attracted to this book because it was compared to the Dresden Files. There are similarities however I think the potential for a in depth series and character development is just as good if not better then Jim Butchers early work in the beginning of the Dresden files.
I cant wait to see where C.T. Phipps and Michael Suttkus go from here. Needless to say if you are a fan of urban fantasy and detective stories this would be a book I would definitely recommend to you.

I surprising and inguaging read.

I really love this series, it's very punny! I never get tired of a good deer pun. Along with its humor and puns is a great coming of age story. I highly recommend this series!
