Intoxicating, Beautiful, and Heart Wrenching

It has been a while since I have listened to a book that has pulled me in so quickly. The narrators did a stunning job and the story was woven beautifully! The speed of the story progression was perfect and I fell in love with the characters. A little different, something like a breath of fresh air.
I highly recommend this book!

Just one word? UNIQUE

I've read many fantasy books, but none quite like this. The characters are "real" in this book. Many books I've read the teenagers are irritatingly annoying or WAY too old.
I didn't read any MATURE themes as they said. It was a PG book I would say.

I can’t even criticize anything, the voice actors are really good, the writing style is very unique, I found it captivating. I’m definitely interested in reading more of the authors works and I’d definitely recommend checking it out :)

Unique and very interesting

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kang a few years ago but I hadn't had the time to read one of her books. I was so excited to see that audible did! I loved the back and forth of the two narrators. I was a little hesitant though that the narrator for Hector sounded too mature for Hector's age, but after awhile I got used to it. Dr. Kang did such a nice job of spinning the tales of the two main characters and weaving them together. It was a story line I never would've imagined, but so well done!

Before listening to this audiobook I hadn't known about the November storms or witches, not isle royal. I didn't know any folklore about Lake Superior. And this was a great way to learn.

the story was good, I'll give it 4 stars, and the performance by both narrators was great! I didn't find any surprising twists but I enjoyed the flow of the story!
