Fascinating and highly listenable, Digital Resilience opens with the infamous 2013 Target attack, which compromised the credit card information of 40 million customers. In hindsight, the hack (like most today) was preventable.

This audiobook helps businesses:

  • Understand the threats they face
  • Assess the resilience of their networks against attacks
  • Identify and address weaknesses
  • Respond to exploits swiftly and effectively

Data theft. Downed servers. Malware. Even human error can trigger cyber events anytime from anywhere around the globe. This powerful guide provides the resilience-building strategies you need to prevail - no matter what strikes.

The author spends a lot of time on background material - hat a network is, what security is, what resilience is, why resilience, in the face of inevitable attacks is important, why resilience must be included as a core business value. Unfortunately, no time on tangible actions to take.

A call to digital arms

For a book that's intended to reach a C-suite audience, there is simply too much redundant content. The action items are lofty and not specific enough for someone to actually action on. Fundamentally, the premise of focusing on digital resilience as a business imperative is compelling and worthwhile, however the message could have been more effectively conveyed in 75% fewer words. The narration was droll and difficult to follow - how many times do we need PII to be spelled out and mispronounced as "pie?"

Repetitive and overly verbose
