Très bien fait

Good intertwining story of two women survivors - one of war, one of abuse. Takes place in my favorite province of la belle France. Although many years apart, the two women’s stories are bittersweet, yet show their strength of character and ability to find peace after their traumas. Excellent narration with super French accents making the story come alive. Bravo!

Remarkable

I didn't want to put this book down! Absolutely heart-wrenching and beautiful simultaneously. An eye opener!

Historical novels

I'm a sucker for a good story set in a historical period. Not only to I get to enjoy each character as they develop I also learn about the history surrounding them.
The Beekeepers Promise was rich in character development and the struggles faced dailey in a war torn world

A good read

The Beekeeper’s promise is parallel storylines. Abi is currently living in 2017, a recently widowed woman who is battling finding herself and security after a domestic abuse situation.

Elaine is a character of the past, living in Nazi occupied France trying to support her family and helping the resistance.

The two world’s collide when they meet each other towards the end of the book when they both find peace with their life. Although the book is about two strong women, the parallel storylines have absolutely nothing to do with each other hence the reason for the lower rating. The book could have been a strong narrative without Abi’s story. I have no idea why that was even added.
