Publisher's summary

Experience the unforgettable, heartbreaking love story set in post-World War II North Carolina about a young socialite and the boy who once stole her heart - one of PBS's "Great American Reads".

The Notebook adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

Booktrack editions are essentially a new genre of digital storytelling entertainment. Music and ambient audio are added to complement and enhance the audiobook experience. It is a synchronized movie-style soundtrack that complements the narration of existing audiobooks; the tempo and rhythm of the score harmonize with action, dialogue and the characters' emotional arcs.

Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story - it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again....

At 31, Noah Calhoun, back in coastal North Carolina after World War II, is haunted by images of the girl he lost more than a decade earlier. At 29, socialite Allie Nelson is about to marry a wealthy lawyer, but she cannot stop thinking about the boy who long ago stole her heart. Thus begins the story of a love so enduring and deep it can turn tragedy into triumph, and may even have the power to create a miracle....

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Music was distracting

I absolutely loved the movie, but this book seemed to get on my nerves with the music in the background. Gave it a sing song appeal that I must have not been into. Kept me from really enjoying the book.

Caught my attention from beginning to the end!

I enjoyed very much listening to this audiobook...the narrator was very expressive in telling the story, and also the sound added to it made the moments become more real!
It was a beautiful love story!
I liked it because the novel was short and you can finish listening to it quickly without getting bored!
I recommend this to everyone!

love this story

I've loved this story since I saw the movie.
I am usually a book snob and don't like to see a movie on a book I've read.
in the case, I was trapped by the movie and couldn't wait to read the book.
Years later, I still love the story and have bought it on audio.

Notebook

Loved the story although a lot of sadness so at times hard to get through. The music was too loud at times and interruprive. The sound affects were actually cool it wasnt overbearing so it added to the ombiance. Sad ending though.

Hmmmmmm

So I physically read this years ago and liked it better. The movie version is better. I liked the Booktrack music. So I can't figure out why I disliked most of this so much.

love is the most powerful magic

I have loved Nicholas Sparks as far back as I can remember he is my absolute favorite author. So it came as no surprise to me that I love this book as much as I loved his others. I am an avid collector of his and I have a pretty good selection. I have yet to find a book that I do not love written by this man. The way he captures love and puts it on paper is absolutely amazing. As far as the narration of this book goes it was pretty good however I don't like that Ali kind of sounds manly LOL. My favorite part about this book is the power of the love they share is strong enough to overcome even the darkest situations. I am lucky to have found this kind of love in my life for many do not and I feel just as Noah and Ally do about my Jason. I will soon be his wife and I hope to have this kind of love and life. I highly recommend this book or any of Nicholas's books.

Forced myself to finish

Very average.... Just a little too much romance. Like others have said, the background music in the performance was annoying
