In an instant he became her hero. Then he became her lover and her friend.

My name is Jaxon Hart.

You watched me grow up. You watched me fight for my life. Now, I’m fighting for hers.

From the second I laid eyes on Annika Leander, I wanted to help her. Protect her. Vindicate her. But she’s got baggage to get through. Hell, we both do.

A funny thing happens, though, when you finally connect with someone in a different way than you ever have before. The baggage doesn’t seem so heavy.

I suppose that’s really the only thing that matters when the heart gets involved.

I love any book by Muffy Newtown and this was no exception. This follows the son from the series and I actually bought this first and listened and loved it! It had everything i look for...sports, romance and chemistry. I love the pacing and it was never dull for me. The narrators were spot on. Good job

I personally loved this book!!

This was one of the best books I've read. It did cover some emotional and terrible situations which do happen in everyday lives of people. Narrators were fabulous. A must read.

Wow ! What a book !

Great to see Jaxon all grown up! He's playing football and working while in college - making his own way as much as possible, instead of living off his parents' money. A tragic event happens at his workplace and bonds him to the heroine ❤️ Serious topics along with some lightness.

Jaxon!

I went into this audio because I loved the previous audio from this series as well as others from this author. M.E. Carter really knows how to play with emotions, unexpected plots and very real characters. This was my first audio with narration by Alex Kydd and I thoroughly enjoyed it. He seems to dive into emotions very well and he has a good balance between his male & female narration. Muffy, as always, is at the top of her game! She really dives into these stories and makes you feel like you are not only a witness but a participant. This story evolves around a difficult subject matter but it is done in a way that it is very deep and you find yourself connecting with the circumstances that these characters are in. The best take away to me is that love can flourish in the most dire and difficult of circumstances if you learn to open up and trust.

Tough subject matter but an overall solid story.
